This hike is my all-time favorite in Ireland! Killiney Hill is a small public park overlooking Dalkey and Killiney village. It's ideal for a morning stroll, a quick outdoor break, or a family outing because there's a playground and a tea room nearby.
It's easily accessible, has breathtaking views, and includes a variety of pathways to the top. An obelisk and a panoramic view over Dublin, the Irish Sea, the Welsh mountains (on a clear day), Bray Head, and the Wicklow Mountains can be found at the summit.
Directions: The Hill is a 16-minute walk from Killiney DART station and an uphill battle! First, you follow Station Road to Strathmore Road and then follow the road right onto Vico Road where the incline really hits. They make it worthwhile because of the scenery along the route!
I followed the narrow path along the brick wall until I realized I wasn’t inclining, at which point I turned into the forest and followed offbeat trails. In hindsight, I realize that it would have been the same if I had continued. Eventually, you will reach the top!
