As COVID-19 continues to show the world its strength, with almost 3.5 million people who have been infected, we start to wonder what a world post COVID-19 is going to look like.

Today’s debate is simply about our response as individual countries and as the world.

Should airlines be required to test travelers before flying, and deny those who are sick? Travel companies will have to choose health over income. We wonder how this will not only affect air travel but train stations, sports centers, schools, and other large gathering areas.

As well developed nations like The United States, The United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain struggle with the response, we think of less-developed countries and how it will affect them. Is it important to test everyone for a longer period?

According to the UN Development Programme on March 30, 2020, they were “working in close coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO), UNDP is helping countries to prepare for, respond to and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing particularly on the most vulnerable.

UNDP is already working to support health systems in countries including Bosnia and Herzegovina, China, Djibouti, El Salvador, Eritrea, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Madagascar, Nigeria, Paraguay, Panama, Serbia, Ukraine and Vietnam.”
